Kelvin is an industry leader in using 450° C rated lead wire.

Type 1 is our standard heater construction. Post terminals with 10-32 threads are securely fastened to each end of the resistance winding using Heatron's unique post-weld connection.

Lead Option Type 2Type 2

Type 2 leads are recommended when heaters must be placed directly side-by-side for easy installation. High temperature lead wire exits the heater through a protective fiberglass sleeve at each end. The leads are diagonally opposite one another.
Type 3 is the most common lead arrangement for nozzle heater applications. High temperature flexible lead wire exits the unit through a protective fiberglass sleeve and the side adjacent to each end. The sheath encloses both ends to protect against molten plastics and other contaminants from entering the heater.

Lead Option Type 4Type 4

Type 4 is designed for additional protection against molten plastics and other contaminates. High temperature flexible leads are individually covered with stainless steel braid, which exits the heater through the side similar to the Type 3 design. The braid is securely attached to prevent the leads from being pulled out.
Type 5 lead arrangement offers excellent abrasion resistance and provides for simple wiring installation. The High temperature flexible leads exit the heater together through a protective flange and a single stainless steel braid near one end of the band. This is ideal for heaters used on extrusion or plastic dies, since the braid is nearly impossible to pull out of the heater.

Lead Option Type 6 Type 6

Type 6 offers the greatest resistance to heat, moisture, and abrasion while remaining flexible. The leads exit together through a stainless steel hose near one end of the band. Like Type 5 leads, this design provides for a simple wiring installation
Type 7 is recommended for applications where abrasion resistance is not a factor. The leads exit the heater near the enclosed end through a protective flange and a single fiberglass sleeve.
